Let me know what you think of it in comments. Brent wrote about it previously, on his blog. I think Brett Lamb wrote about it somewhere, too, but I can't find it. You can see clearly that the new sign is gigantic. What may not be so clear here is that it is just a single piece of flat metal, with portions painted black... There is no more point or frame. Earlier, I described it as a "goofy Disneyesque faux-historic look". On the other hand, I have to admit that the thing is much easier for me to read. My vision is pretty bad, and I sometimes can't read street signs from the far side of the road. This new one is obviously cheaper, too. I suppose that what I'm saying is that as I get used to them, I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I've been too resistant to change just for the sake of resisting change. |
