Apparently Torontonians don't pay income taxes to Ottawa or Queen's Park.

How else to interpret this from Andrew Coyne?

Your money thrown in a hole in the ground!

Folks outside Toronto may be interested to know that $1-billion of your money has just gone to subsidize the Toronto subway system. But don't worry. There'll doubtless be federal money for the Edmonton subway soon enough.

As an aside, I should point out the funding is actually $70-million per year from Ottawa and $70-million per year from Queen's Park, for five years.
