The Globe and Mail reports today that former Ontario health minister Tony Clement is "90% committed" to running for the leadership of the new national Conservative Party.
I don't remember enough about Tony during the Harris-Eves years. I'm not sure if he was one of the bad guys, or one of the really bad guys.
About the only specific thing I do remember is a moronic comment of his after the 1999 TTC strike. He said the difficulties the city was having proved it had become "too dependent" on public transit.
Anyway, it looks like there will be a candidate from Ontario after all. I don't think he'll win, though. But don't be surprised if he runs for MP this spring.
