Now Toronto's multi-billion-dollar film industry is fighting against the Toronto island airport expansion.

Seems that this idea straight out of the 1950s would be bad for their business. Major filming areas are right under the flight path.

This key zone, where it would be too noisy to film, is the Portlands -- also a major focus of the so-called Waterfront Revitalization.

So, we can add another strike against this pathetic idea. It:

• Relies on a massive subsidy from the cash-starved City of Toronto
• Flies to nowhere of significance / has almost no competitive advantage over Pearson
• Built around a money-losing, contracting industry
• Damages the quality of life and property values of tens of thousands of condo owners through noise and air pollution
• Cripples the Toronto film industry
• Makes Toronto seem pathetic and vision-less, out of touch with contemporary values
